From the documentation for MBF...
Non-sentient objects fall down under their own weight when their balance is upset and they are more than halfway off of a ledge
* Objects don't fall under their own weight

When this option is set to YES, non-sentient objects that fall under gravity
stay seated at the highest height among all floors they contact. When this
option is set to NO, non-sentient objects that fall under gravity will tend
to fall off of ledges if their center of mass is off of it, as if by torque,
and will roll down stairs and ledges.
This sort of thing would be a very nice feature to add, in my opinion. It's kind of annoying to see corpses hanging off of ledges by just their fingertips.

That code never worked. It once was in ZDoom but was removed due to the major problems it caused. It won't be re-added. Even in MBF it was possibly one of the most map breaking features ever.

It sounds like a good feature to be implemented as a flag (a boulder-type item would benefit from it), assuming there was working code for it.

Though by the topic title, I assumed this was going to be a suggestion that heavy things should fall faster :P

Well...in Doom, against all laws of physics, heavy things actually do fall faster.
