I have to say, I was a little surprised when all of a sudden I had to delve into the deep end and relate ponetical wisdom of comeradery and chummerianism to something relating to lust. I mean I'm sure we're all mature enough to handle such a discussion, but why even start. There are other places better equipped to handle it I'm sure.

If anything, I've always wanted to put forward the question "Is there any specific aspect of the show that you treasure over any other?"

I would have to say that it brought me closer to the characterization that is Rainbow Dash. She is put forth as being a sort of supergirl; very powerful and capable and certain of herself, yet has her own inherent flaws which make her human mortal. Yet she flies, which is something that I personally sorely wish I could do myself. (I believe it was Mel Brooks who said "If we were meant to fly, we would be born with airplane tickets.") Though note that you never hear "I hate her because she can fly and I can't." That's something I really, really respect about the show and the population within it. She tries to rescue people and is first to the occasion, and is loyal as cake.

It's one of the reasons why My Little Dashie was so hard-hitting for me. I felt every teardrop.

*SIGH* That's not what I had in mind at all when I used the word "hot".

You know guys, I really thought it would be different here in ZDoom forum. I mean, normal MLP fansites are full of 10-year olds so it is really not place for mature (let alone adult) discussions. And furry/manga sites are full of creeps who only go there to find pictures of MLP characters with naughty bits. I thought this ZDoom thread would be sort of neutral place - most people are adults (they have to be if they play 17 years old game) and they definitely don't come to this thread for explicit material. So I figured discussions here would be civil, even in the case of more... controversial... sides of MLP fandom.

But it seems I was dead wrong. You know what? Just forget that asked anything back there. It is sure not worth somebody accusing me of "trying to ignite flamewar in this thread" again (which I've never tried, but what the hell).

Just slept a total of 22 hours, what did i miss?...........

um...caleb? you do realize that there is no "official" age limit in doom anymore do you? and on the other side, at least you killed the argument fast.(It would be a shitstorm AND a flamewar)

and what did you mean by hot anyway? like this?

"hot" can have many different interpretations.(more often sexual) so please, specify on what you mean by "hot" next time.

P.S. You ended up reminding me why I actually dislike rule 34 in the 1st place . It's the equivalent of watching a your sister being done. (makes me want a vasectomy)

"Hot" is most commonly used as a sexual descriptor, and given that there were no context clues in your post to indicate a different meaning over this one, it sure sounded like that was what you had in mind.

I don't know how you do it, but you consistently manage to make MLP discussion weird and unpleasant.

What do you even mean by this? If you're referring to the average age of Doom players, then how on earth is there an official age limit. If you're referring to the game's age restriction, then there certainly is an official age restriction, just look it up on Wikpedia.

Uh, gun, another gun, some other type of gun, a Flamethrower there at the end.

Was I close? Were they various types of gun?

Seriously though, if the dude bothered to draw specific types of actual weapons, I will be mildly concerned by his confusing mixture of ponies and an encyclopedic knowledge of gun designs.

I must admit I caused this mess probably because I didn't understand properly what kind of people come here. For me, MLP is just one of many animated TV shows I've watched and liked. I have no problem enjoying all its facets, including the negative ones (Cupcakes, .MOV series etc.). I wrongly assumed that mostly everyone here will view the show like that - but it appears that for people here, the show is much more.

That said, I simply don't understand why everyone invoked sex after I used the word "hot". Yes, I know it is frequently used in this sense. But I also personally know several men who call cars or guns "hot" and yet I'm pretty confident they don't... uh... "clop"... above magazines with photos of these things. So seriously, I don't understand why would people in these forums automatically assumed I meant sex - after all (just like cars and guns) animated ponies definitely are not typical sex objects. What I actually meant was more like "which pony you think is most beautifully drawn/animated/designed". Just like one would like "the looks" of some well-designed (sports) car.

It is kind of funny, too. Several thread pages back, I put forth a "theory" that the show's is popular among adult males because it has (subliminally or otherwise) encoded porn into it. Well, I got yelled at by several people, something along the lines "don't taint MLP with such thoughts". But now it appears that "such thoughts" are not entirely foreign among MLP fans here. Oh well, just like I said above, I probably grossly misjudged type of people coming into this thread, and I'm really sorry if I upset anyone.

Apologizing on forums is unnecessary, and backpedalling from misunderstood jokes should NEVER be done. I saw your former post and now I know why they reacted that way.

Also, what the fuck is with sexual terms tainting the language? I thought clop simply means the noise horses make when walking. Trivial, easy to reproduce words become shameful because some idiot had to censor himself and bandwagon people followed suit.

If someone spoke this sentence in real life around other people:

You wrote:make (a) list of ponies you consider the hottest

they'd get a funny look from EVERYONE in earshot.

Also, about that spiel about cars and guns? In those situations, "Hot" is being used as a synonym for "Sexy". The only reason that won't get you funny looks is because actual sexual attractions to those things patently ridiculous in real life(unless it's Jeremy Clarkson you're talking about). Also, this is the internet, where every sort of sexual deviancy ever dreamt of by man (and quite a few others beyond that) is a simple search away.

EDIT: Also, Jesus H. Christ, I'm defending bronies, what is wrong with me?

Hot also seems to be used to mean fresh, like baked food, and seems to be used with news or articles.
