Working industriously on my text-based Minesweeper project, for class!

I wish computer science classes would put more emphasis on making GUI applications.

This is step 1 of the project. Step 2 is making it graphical. Unfortunately, I'm falling behind in my other classes, so I'm going to have to forgo the graphic part rather than waste time figuring out how to do that.

Just got back from the opticians. Turns out that there probably was a lump of dust or something stuck in my eye last night, but since then I must have washed it out and have just been suffering from eye irritation. Well that is a relief.

Yeah, it can often feel like something is still in there afterward. Just takes a while for the tissue to "calm down".

By GUI I even mean making windows with controls and such, not graphical DOS mode. Because of lack of schooling, I don't know how to even plan making a new Doom editor.

Well, by GUI, the only thing we've learned in class was the Java swing and the other (can't remember the name) libraries.

I'm not sure I do, either, but I live in San Antonio. It's a low budget, all-Spanish channel, and I'm pretty sure they can only afford one voice-over guy. Youtube a telenovela and lol your socks off. That stuff redefines SRS BSNS. Even if you can't understand what they're saying.

I'll mispronounce probably every single goddamn thing but I don't give a cake. I'm not a spanish speaker. =P

Quick briefing:

-"y" as a word is pronounced EE.

-The Ñ makes a NY sound, i.e. SEÑOR is pronounced "seenyor".

-A double L (ll) is treated like the letter y, i.e. pollo is pronounced poyo (with the first o as in "boy"), and thusly the pronunciation of tortilla.

-"Que" is just pronounced "kay".

-Spanish speakers tend to speak a bit quicker than most english speakers. The language flows. Get the phonetic reading down, and then slip out each line.

-Spanish has more srs bsns vowels, COMUNISMO would be "cah - moo - knees - moe".

You are now ready to embarrass at least a continent's worth of people.

All correct, not disputing anything but why is it that non-Spaniards can pronounce tortilla in an at least approximately correct way but virtually no one says paella with the ll = y pronunciation (which I believe is correct - but I could be wrong)? My guess is that it's just too damned awkward to say.
