This could work just fine if when you find the captured guy he's all bloody and bruised, and inside some kind of torture/sacrifice chamber, as opposed to just a prison cell.
Alternately:
Spoiler:

But yeah, I imagine that most of the demons (particularly Zombies/Imps/Pinkies/Cacos) would just mindlessly kill and/or eat everything they came across. The Cyberdemon probably just enjoys being a nigh-unstoppable machine of death by causing as much indiscriminate (if it's even capable of discrimination...) damage as possible. The only ones I can really see taking captives are Barons, Archviles, and MAYBE the Mastermind. Barons being particularly cruel and tearing their victims apart slowly while listening to them scream and beg for mercy, and Archviles preferring less brutal, more elaborate (e.g. ritualistic sacrifices)... and then reviving them and doing it again. Even then, it's probably more of a pastime than any sort of military strategy... It's not like they're interrogating our scientists or holding our VIPs for ransom money; It's more like some Baron of Hell is just sitting all bored after trashing a UAC outpost, and the scrawny guys in labcoats are more fun to torture to death than the buff guys in armor since they bleed more, bite less, and make worse zombies anyway.

Most likely the finalized HUD for WOR2. I would like to have an inventory bar w/ 3 items in it, but with forcescaled on, that's just too big. I've been looking at Psychic's buymenu ACS to get an idea about how I could make an inventory bar replacement that is more like the inventory menus you see in RPGs and the like. Thoughts?

Would be nice if there was a health icon next to the health bar, because then it would match with the rest of the bars.

Also, what is the white bar numbered "30"?

Anyway, I wouldn't mind a large inventory bar, you could keep it transparent or only have it set to show up when you're actually looking through your inventory.

Yeah, I'll add that.

Flashlight energy.

I suppose. The thing I don't like is, you can't change the amount of time it stays open, and because this is Strife, you can hit useinventory only once to use items, not once to close the bar and then again to use it, like Doom. Also, that behavior isn't modifiable as well.

That's odd. You should suggest this to be a gameinfo option for MAPINFO.

1: Yay, crisp high res sliders...

3: And it gets worse at lower resolutions. D:

So I've come to an impasse regarding future plans. The thing about running a Doom Project is that, unlike with a movie, you can't just be the Director, controlling the creative elements and giving passes or fails on the material presented to you by your team, Right?

As far as I am aware, there ain't a chance in heck of people wanting to work on your project simply because you have the ideas, concepts, plans, etc. You have to contribute in a direct material manner, because it's not like they're being paid. Unless, like DavidPH, they're suckers/friends who would honestly be willing to just do such a thing just cuz.

So theoretically, if I were to want to gather a team and head up a project, everyone I would talk to is BETTER at what would need to be done than me. Like, everything I can think of. I know folks who might be willing to help whose DECORATE blows mine out of the water, and I can't map or write ACS/DS. I can't sprite, I can't write music. I can Photoshop and record and edit voices with Audacity to a small degree, and that's about it - and the voice stuff is a nominal contribution, especially since this is a community that contains Bouncy. :P

So first of all, how the heck do you assemble and organize a project team, even when needing a not-gargantuan crew, and secondly, how do you get a team together in the first place when you aren't necessarily stellar at the actual DOING of said project? Ideas? Advice? I'm not talking about a Community project, a just a project that requires multiple people.

Well, usually the leaders of projects are mostly for ideas anyway. I guess the best way to get a team together is to come up with something interesting that they'd be able to enjoy working on. For example, I could probably handle DECORATE, but considering I know nothing about your project I don't know what I would be making at all.

The problem with most people have despite being the "ideas guy" is that they kind of do it half-heartedly and end up leaving a lot of the choices to the people creating the content, such as artists and weapon designers. If they have to come up with what the weapon will do, what a monster will mostly look like while they're making it instead of having a clear picture before starting, then their job becomes much harder to accomplish.

So if you are able to come up with an interesting idea and are able to tell your team exactly what to do instead of having them wing it, then you're probably going to get a lot more support.

To organize a project team, you basically need to be Tormentor, i.e. you need to be freakishly good at doing things and have an ego that somehow still manages to outclass that. =P

(Just kidding, Torm...I still love you. =P)

Another of Torm's finer skills is that he's so thick skinned. Negativity doesn't seem to ever get him down for long.

I'd probably be kind of a terrible project leader. I haven't really had a "team" so far other than a few guys testing what I've put together. And maybe a couple of folks I can ask about resources. Generally I'm too perfectionist/OC about the part of the project I'm working on (code usually) and don't want anyone else touching it.

Also I'm terrible at collab. I've had to stop voluntering for projects because my work ethic is only active in small bursts. (Meaning that a lot of the time, I don't feel like doing much of anything.) :?

I think it all comes down to having a natural "leader" personality. A few people have it, but most of us don't.
