Nope - it's a bug that was never ever fixed in the span of 12 years.

Bummer, just as I was beginning to think that I might be starting to get the hang of Milkshape's animation too. :?

Oh well, here's an update on the crusader. A little bit of messing with the relative sizes of the various parts pretty accidentally got me something that is truer to the original sprite (though true faithfulness has never been my intention) and better, less comical, looking. Or maybe I'm just getting used to seeing it.

Yay for that lump in the "middle" of the leg joint being off centre. That'll be Milkshape's animation then. :?

If you think about hopping to Blender to animate and export, i'll have to mention this important thing:

MD3 export doesn't work for 2.5x, 2.6x

The only scripts available are broken

I still use the quite different 2.49 for MD3 export, using an obscure version of a script that works

also, no proper MD2 export for Blender exists - it's always been a blind 'nehe' implementation that doesn't even work with Quake II.

You could export using IQM then convert it to a format you want using Noesis

Here's a high-res WIP (not finished) texture heavily inspired on the first patch of GSTONE1:

I know I'll need to finish the other three, but according to GSTONE1, they look very similar, but have different burning and washing patterns. I forgot to separate the base and overlay layers, however...

Looks very heavily airbrushed. If these are supposed to be bricks and not marble, they could really use some more roughness to them - adding some more faint gaussian noise might help a bit.

I think they're supposed to be smooth and shiny on the flat surfaces, just rough on the edges. GSTONE is indeed marble. The 3d and shininess effects will be separate, because I'm doing this for Doom 3.

Well, big black spots are a definite no-no.
I'm jelly of how good your brick shape is, though. >:'(

It didn't have big black spots. :p
It had big black blotches of what looks like fungus.

Perhaps they could be sections that crumbled out - in which case the black spots' edges need to be more jagged.

Looks kinda like a wall made of jelly. I like :D

Just use add Gaussian noise, and then use the layer options to add contour to make it look more hard.

my personal shitty result to improve it. Take of it what you will. =P

<yeah, it doesn't tile seamlessly, for starters. I was lazy. xP>

Edit:
