Strife Teaser
Yesterday was the first day that ZDoom was able to fully play through the teaser version of Strife. One can only wonder how much longer it will be before the retail version is fully playable...

PLEASE??
I want .64 so much, that i'm starting to have dreams about it. the night before last night i had a dream and i saw one of the zdoom forums and the first 2 topics were "Guidelines.... (cant remember)" and then "0.64 ZDooM released!" or something like that.
Then last night i had a dream that i saw the main zdoom.org page, but i didnt see a screenshot, but instead i saw it say "2.0.64 Zdoom Released Today!" or somethin...

I remember very clearly a dream of mine where I was working my way through MAP01, but when I hit the end switch, nothing happened. I was like WTF? So I went through the entire level trying to find an alternative way out... I managed to climb over the wall in the outdoor courtyard secret area, but when I did, there was this endless wall of demons waiting for me. I was just about to jump off into the demons, when I woke up.Xaser wrote:I've had a dream about Doom before. I was playing some kind of strange level. When I woke up, I remembered it so I went to make a map of it. Unforunately, that was about 2 years ago and I couldn't map worth a shit, so it came out looking like crap.

Maybe i can tap into my inner-self thru dreams and make wonderful levels...
EDIT: Destroyer, your post reminded me of something. I was playing around with an Etch-A-Sketch and i looked away while i made a completely random drawing. When i looked at it, it looked like MAP01. I did this again and again, but each new drawing looked less and less like MAP01.

I have a reoccuring dream of the pinky demon that I've had since 93. It's really dark outside and I'm walking home from the pizza place I've always gone to... and all of the streetlights go out and the pinky demon charges me and starts chewing my face. Back when I started having this dream... Doom was a lot scarier for me.
I also have this dream where I hack the Half life engine... and I can use the "free look" mode in real life... so I float down the street with the half life HUD around my vision and such... while peeping into peoples houses and what not. It feels very real, and when I wake up from those dreams I feel like I can actually do this.

AAAAaanyway, back to the news.
This is cool news. I really like the Strife demo. Although it essentially uses the same levels as the retail version, the plot and quest are slightly different, and it stands on it's own as a mini game. Lets hope full retail support isn't too far behind.
As MartinHowe (that crazy cat) said: Randy, you rock.
