ZDoom 2.3.1 released

Postby randi » Sat Mar 14, 2009 10:17 pm

ZDoom has been updated to version 2.3.1. This version:
  • Fixes the bug that prevented you from switching weapons after respawning in multiplayer.
  • Fixes a performance regression introduced in 2.3.0.
  • Adds support for zip/pk3 files with LZMA and BZip2 compression. (7-Zip is one program that can create such files.)
  • Addresses a few other niggles.

Also, I wanted to make this the "π Edition" due to the date, but that's not 8-bit ASCII, so it wouldn't work. :geek:

Also, you'd be 6 years too early, 7 if you decided to round.

Then you'd have to deal with the picky ones. Like yours truly, for instance. :P

At least all the niggles are out. The broken multiplayer I could deal with but niggles just drive me straight up the wall.

If you want to be renew your faith in the stupidity of British politicians, and in keeping with the derailment from the previous release thread, there is Birmingham abrogating the apostrophe in the possessive case.

Me and my brother actually found the lack of weapon changing after a death on co-op to be an interesting challenge, and a real incentive to stay alive :P

Still, I'm glad its fixed - it'd have been annoying had we have been playing a difficult WAD. Good stuff randy (and all other contributors!) :)
