If you ever revisit this, I found a bug: Unmaker Runes don't display properly under the latest GZDoom. (At least on the devbuilds)
The nails around them don't rotate, remaining static.

edit: Switching to Hardware Accelerated renderer solved it.

Hahaha sounds good then. I'm a mess around with them over the next week and report back any interesting findings. I'm currently running PalPlus with RetroShader, and seeing how ScreeM handles reds made me wanna try this too. Trying to go for a grim, gritty, sinister look.

Words cannot express properly my excitement for this project. Its aesthetic is quite sublime. It evokes Dark Souls, Bloodborne, HeXen and Castlevania all simultaneously. Very impressive.

Cohesion, perhaps? Feels to me like that would be the right one. Higher graphical quality does not necessarily bridge the gap towards making everything coalesce together in a way that is aesthetically pleasing.
