Woe Without End

Post by Deathsong12 »

Alright. It's clear to me that some stuff has to actually get done, and that I need to stop hemming and hawing over various ideas. Tomorrow, I will post a summary of what we need to do for both the teaser and the main project. For now, I'll post the new backstory for the game, so that we can start making revisions and get a good, solid conceptual foundation for this thing.

Okay. I live again. For those who do not know what WWE is, it it contained in the spoiler.
Spoiler:
Now, on to the to-do list for the teaser:
  • Finish detailing BetaSword's Isous map (Me)
  • Start work on the Great Temple map (Me)
  • Start work on the Sewers map (Beta?)
  • Decorate the following monsters: Serf, Cop, Paramilitary, Pistol Marine, Shotgun Marine, Imp, Phobos (NPC!), Ettin, Dark Bishop, Axe Zombie, Ghost, Warborn, Gargoyle, Star-Jelly, Spider Hacthling, Spider Brooder. (Me)
  • Develop and Decorate the weapons, including: Brutal Pistol, Brutal Shotgun, Brutal SMG. (Focus should be on improvised weapons.) (Froon?)
  • Write Dailouge scripts for all maps (Me)
  • The quests will be built into the Decorate/Dailouge, so no complex ACS. (Yay!)

Remember, I'm Dr. Goldfire. (Regular is fine, but my avatar would make more sense since I'm sniper.) Otherwise, kick ass.

I can assist with any Decorate Functions you may need for this project, but I specialize in weapons :P

@Inuyasha_989: I'll consult with Froon, who is supposed to be in charge of weapons. Once we have the final list for the teaser, we'll let you pick those you feel like doing. In the meantime, If you have any cool ideas for improvised weapons, let me know.

@Bouncy: As an A.I. you are bound to no body in particular.

@Marty: PM or post your character's bio an a link to the sprites. He will be used, though perhaps not in the teaser.

I would be happy to work with Inuyasha_989 on the weapons, as long as he is happy to work with me. We have slightly different problem solving processes and different decorate areas of expertise. Hopefully we can work well together.

Where do I find the graphical resources to get started, or do you want me to develop my own?

Also, you seem to be interested in using projectile only, no hit-scans. To the best of my knowledge there is no vertical spread, only horizontal spread. Of course if something similar to the Mage's Frost Shard attack is alright for a repalcement shotgun (I believe it uses vertical offsets, no vertical spread) I could do these no worries. (I am considering having a whole bunch of possible projectiles with different off-sets and spreads, and randomly selecting a bunch of them with each shot)

In case you guys need some weapons, I have a few you may want/not want, but they're creations i made mainly for myself. If you'd like to take a look at some of them just ask and i'll link em over.

And wouldn't mind at all to work with Froon on the weapons. I love to assist wherever I can :D

I hate hitscan attacks, and it sounds like Froon has got his ideas in gear for replacing them. At the moment, I am sepreated from my huge-ass resource pack, but I am happy to track down the resources you may need (I'm good at that). Remeber, the people of Eden have just moved in, so guns of any kind will be real powerful compared to most of the weapons you are likely to find (in the teaser, at least.) Those who have weapons generally made or found them, so see If you have any cool ancient or improvised weapons we can use. If you lack graphics for an idea, let me know and I'll check the circut. We don't really have a set number of weapons for the project, so just make stuff as you feel like it, and we'll use it. If there are any holes to be filled, we can fill them from the WRW.

@Inuyasha989: If you have anything you feel could be useful, please share it.

@KoF: Tough. I misspell all the time.
