[I would like a...]Stable version of Doom Builder

Post by Lexus Alyus »

As a lot of you already know, the latest Doom Builder is pritty fucked. I've not made any levels for a long time and I want to get my hands dirty again, but I feel that I'm unable to do so at the moment. Could someone please be so kind as to email or point me to a link of the last stable version?

my email is:

damian672 [at] yahoo [dot] co [dot] uk

Thanks in advance :).

Theres an annoying bug that occurs when you try to choose a texture outside of the curently used ones in 3d more. It will crash back to 2d mode with a runtime error.

The bizzarre thing is the program will not actually crash until you click within the map area, which causes a runtime error. If you try and save your work after crashing out of 3d mode, the programs launches you back into 3d more after the save and will not quit out until you ctrl + alt + del or press the windows key. Its a pain.

1.64 is far easier to work with imo, minus some bugs in the scrpit editor.

1.67 is workable, but it's getting very prone to dying on me nowadays...

I have version 1.62. Most stable editor I've ever used.

Then again, it's missing a lot of cool stuff the later versions have.

1.67 has been known to crash on me when opening a file right after opening a different one, saving (only happened a few times), and switching to/from 3D mode. I think I'll get 1.66 in that case, but one question: besides the level of stableness, WTF is the difference between '66 and '67?

.67 can put things in 3D mode, very useful for Hexen style levels (when 3D mode works of course...)

Just that for several crashes? Something tells me this was coded a tad poorly between the two versions. Anyway, *downloads*
