Should have started a new topic instead of asking a question inside a different post. Dloaded the newest Zeth and fired up a wad that I want to finally complete. My problem is this. When I make changes and want to save the wad..........it crashes. Im using Zeth 4.17 and just dloaded the newer windows version as well........both crash. They both start up fine, I can run the error checkers fine and all inputs appear to be functional. Just when I go to save the wad using either F2 or F3 it brings up the wad's name in the box and when i hit enter to save, there is a slight pause and the whole thing crashes to the desktop. Strange. There is no error messages so I dont know what is causing this. I learned this the hard way after working on the wad for about 40 minutes. Everything gone.(sigh). Also tried several different wads..........same problem. Any suggestions? Here is what im using:
Dell 800mhz
Win 98se
256 ram
Ge Force4 t4600
directx 9.0b
All drivers are up to date including video. Thanks in advance for any help.

(Just BTW you do not need DirectX and drivers for DOS-Zeth, it is SVGA.)
Hm, I can't really tell why, but I experienced the same.

If you want to save your pwad with a new name and as map01, and there is a level in ZETH.INI
already for map01, then ZETH will shut down and unceremoniously return you to Windows.
Solution 1:
Edit ZETH.INI. Either add a # in front of 'File = map01', so that it is not read, or replace map01
in 'File = map01' with the actual name of your pwad, if known beforehand.
Solution 2:
Save your pwad as mapxx, which is different from the one in ZETH.INI.
